Manufactured at the Barnaul plant in Russia, Silver Bear ammo derives its name from the zinc-plated steel casings used. These steel casings feature a zinc plating to prevent corrosion improving the shelf life of these rounds! Additionally, zinc has a lower friction coefficient than steel helping Silver Bear ammo to feed and extract better than non-coated steel cased ammo.
Silver Bear works to produce ammunition that feeds and ejects consistently and performs reliably for target practice. They use a unique bi-metal layering process alternating thin layers of steel and copper to create the steel cases used for these 9mm rounds. The finished rounds are berdan primed to ensure ignition and coated with a special lacquer for improved cycling. These rounds are designed to be non-corrosive, so they don’t produce excessive friction in your gun’s barrel. These are lightweight 115 grain rounds, which keeps your felt recoil manageable and allows them to travel at greater speeds. They’re Full Metal Jacket rounds, so they don’t expand on impact; all target rounds are prone to over-penetration, so you need to be sure of your backstop when you’re shooting. Each of these rounds leaves the barrel of your gun with fantastic speed at a muzzle velocity of 1180 feet per second and impacts your stationary target with significant force. These FMJ rounds are great for target practice and shooting drills.
There are 500 target rounds in this box of ammunition from Silver Bear.
