ZHMASH Jubilee Series Gold Edition 5.45x39mm Semi-Automatic 30 Round AK74 Rifle
ZHMASH Jubilee Series Gold Edition 5.45x39mm Semi-Automatic 30 Round AK74 Rifle
In general, AKs are known for being formidable, reliable, workhorse weapons trusted by militaries around the world. The brainchild of a self-taught Russian tinkerer who used his innate mechanical skills and study of arms design, Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov’s AK-47 not only reached battlefield ubiquity, the Avtomat Kalashnikova (Kalashnikov's Automatic Gun) is still a rifle that no gun collection is complete without. The question comes down to which AK you need.
High demand and a limited supply mean Arsenal rifles are always in short supply, which also has the side benefit of making them highly collectable. However, if you are looking for the ultimate collector’s AK, one that is guaranteed to increase in value, look no further than the Arsenal Inc. Silver Edition Jubilee AK-74.
The Jubilee Series
The Jubilee Series was the result of a collaboration between Arsenal Inc. and Izhmash. The project was personally overseen by none other than Mikhail Kalashnikov. The initial manufacturing was in Russia and then perfected to its final configuration in the U.S. by Arsenal Inc.
500 Jubilee rifles were produced to commemorate Mikhail Kalashnikov’s 90th birthday, which coincided with the 35th anniversary of the development and fielding of the AK-74 series of rifles. Each rifle is engraved with Kalashnikov’s signature and a serial number beginning with MTK in his honor. The first 100 rifles were finished to Gold Edition standards, the remaining 400 were dedicated to the Silver Edition.
How collectable are Jubilee rifles?
You can find a Gold Jubilee in the NRA Museum and another in the Kalashnikov Museum in Izhevsk Russia. Other than that, with only 100 in existence, you may get lucky and find one at a high-end firearms auction house once every few years. With 2019 marking what would have been Kalashnikov’s 100th birthday, there has been a renewed interest that has prompted Arsenal Inc. to release a limited supply of the remaining Silver Jubilees. Since its introduction a decade ago, the Silver Jubilee has already tripled in value.
What is a Gold Jubilee?
There has been a tremendous amount of extra work and attention to detail put into every Jubilee, making these 400 rifles some of the finest examples of AKs in the world. All components used in Jubilee Series rifles were hand selected and inspected for perfection. All metal surfaces were coated with an eye catching, glossy black finish that was developed specifically for the Jubilee Series. The right side of the receiver features engravings showing its dedication to the 90th Anniversary of Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov, 35 Years of AK-74, and carries the Izhmash Factory logo as well as Dr. Kalashnikov’s signature.
The engravings are filled with beautiful gold color fillings, giving these rifles their compelling looks. Select components (trigger, bolt carrier, rear sight slide with button, pivot pins, recoil assembly, and magazine catch) are fine polished and coated by hard chromium for a fine gold finish. All Gold Jubilees come with black polymer furniture, matching the original MIL-SPEC standard.
Each rifle in the Jubilee Series is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity endorsed by Lieutenant General Mikhail Kalashnikov.
Included Accessories
