The Wolverine PBS-1 boasts Classic Comblock looks, state-of-the-art materials & internals, and a high degree of versatility. The Wolverine represents a great step forward for Kalashnikov owners who would prefer to shoot their rifles suppressed, but have not found an acceptable silencer.

Kalashnikov pattern rifles have always presented unique challenges for use with a sound suppressor. The threads on factory manufactured guns vary wildly in regards to concentricity with the bore. Many silencer companies simply choose not to warranty their products on Kalashnikov pattern rifles because of this. Or, to prevent use of their silencers on AK's and to avoid warranty service, offer no mounting solutions in these thread patterns.

The Wolverine PBS-1 is different. Since it was designed from inception for use on these rifles, varying degrees of non concentric threads had to be accounted for in the design to prevent baffle strikes. The Wolverine accomplishes this via a specifically engineered bore taper, that allows the Wolverine to be used on all but the worst examples of non concentric threads. In our testing on a large number of foreign and American made barrels, we have achieved what we believe to be the optimum bore diameter and taper to prevent baffle strikes on the vast majority of rifles, without huge sacrifices in sound reduction performance. This means the user can simply screw the Wolverine on and use it with a high degree of confidence that the likelihood of damage to the unit is very small and should it occur, is covered by our industry leading lifetime warranty.

Another challenge with the Kalashnikov pattern guns is they are hugely over-gassed. This in some part provides the legendary reliability they are known for. Adding a typical sound suppressor to the mix only makes the problem worse, frequently leaving the shooter with a very unpleasant experience. This has turned more than one Kalashnikov user off to the use of sound suppressors on the platform altogether. The Wolverine addresses the issue through a baffle stack designed to have minimal back pressure and to be balanced between the muzzle and the ejection port. This means the silencer was optimized to as closely as possible “equalize” the two, effectively suppressing the muzzle without needlessly increasing sound levels and gas blow back. This leaves the shooter with a very pleasant experience.

The Wolverine is designed to be as tough as the rifles they are intended for. Utilizing a strong Stainless Steel exterior, and baffles made entirely out of Stellite, the Wolverine PBS-1 is one of the toughest silencers available. This means the Wolverine can be shot hard on anything from your favorite SBR Krinkovs all the way up to auto RPK's. With a full auto rating and no minimum barrel length requirements, the Wolverine is the clear choice for brute strength and durability.

The Wolverine features 2 included external locking collars. The two sizes are to accommodate widely varying thread diameters and pitches associated with these rifles. The collars work with the rifle's existing front sight block pin to help prevent loosening of the silencer under a heavy firing schedule. A 14x1LH thread insert is also included, making the Wolverine compatible with most threaded 7.62x39 AK variants right out of the box. Additional thread inserts to accommodate other common comblock pattern threads (24mm RH AK-74, 26mm LH Yugo M92, Etc.) and even common american thread inserts (1/2x28 and 5/8x24) are available at minimal cost to make the Wolverine one of the most versatile silencers you'll ever own.
