We set to create a handguard that would be practical in use with tactical upgrades, but in weight similar to the standard polymer hand guard. First thing people notice about it - it's very light! Second, it takes standard heat shields but it's not really necessary because the ventilation is so good you can even hold it after several mag dumps (See video below). Also, note the right side QD that allows sling placement away from all your mounted accessories.
