Dog Leg Rail, Gen-3 — AKM, AK-47, AK74
The ingeniously simple and rugged design provides a rock solid mount for accuracy and a forward hinged, quick release cover with rear cam lock design to preserve the AK’s field stripping qualities. The quick release hinge also allows the use of longer scopes without the need for quick detach mounts. Available in various configurations for standard pattern AK, Yugo, C39 and PSL rifles.
Kit Includes:
- Dog Leg rail top cover
- Hinge fork with takedown pin (pre-installed)
- Hinge base with screw
- Nut plate (under hinge base)
- Hinge base pin and retaining clip
- Cover release button
- Allen wrench
Note: Some rifles need an additional part (PN 55315 - Guide Wire & Retainer Cap / 6”) that works in conjunction with the TWS supplied Cover Release Button. Most AK rifles have a recoil spring assembly that consists of two long “U” shaped wires that loop together. The two looped wires assemble inside the recoil spring.
If your AK rifle has a telescopic tubular type recoil guide, please order the additional part, Guide Wire & Spring Retainer (PN 55315). This additional part, along with the Cover Release Button will replace your telescopic tubular type recoil spring assembly.
